Whitsun, White Sunday occurs ten days after Ascension Day and seven weeks after Easter Sunday and is now referred to as Pentecost. After Sunday the next week was a time for public fairs and festivals, where Morris dancing and mystery plays were performed. Whitsun ale was often brewed, distributed and sold. Games played were the same as those played on Shrove Tuesday. The color associated with Whitsun is red.
